So Let's Review

• We are surging in Iraq to reduce sectarian violence and stabilize the country.


• Supporters have promised a review of the success in September


• Shrub and Patreus (the approver-in-chief and architect of the surge respectively) will review the success or failure of the surge


• Shurb and Patreus (see above) are warning of a very violent summer since the dead enders know September is an important month politically

We don't need to wait until September to know if the surge is a success. It already is! If violence is quelled it worked as predicted. If violence levels explodes then the insurgents will be in their last-last-last throws.

The Democrats did what they could. They sent Bush a bill with all the money he wanted (and more) but it included the plan for withdraw. Bush vetoed it and enough Goppers in Congress backed him. When the Democrats proposed a bill with benchmarks Bush again threatened a veto. The Democrats could have continued to play this game but they had to give the money for the troops.

George W. Bush, you lost this war and you own it completely. If you had signed the bill with the withdraw plan you could have pointed the finger at the Democrats and a lot of people would have believed you. No more. It's yours, asshole.
