Completely Unprofessional Movie Review
Just off the bat I should say I don't go to movies. The last 3 movies I saw in the theaters were Beowulf (Jolie in body paint!!!!!), Team America (sucked), LOTR: Return Of The King (pretty good).
And I don't watch much TV. If there's not a baseball or futbol game on I'm probalby not watching. So it's been a weird week where I watched two movies on HBO. Don't ask why have HBO (and Showtime, and TMC, and Skinemax, and ...) when I don't watch TV. It just is.
It was last Thursday when I came across The Transformers movie on HBO. I had missed the first 10 minutes but I sat and watched anyway. In a word, campy. The acting was so-so. The story line was formulaic - the good and evil invading aliens, the incompetent, bungling government agents, the super tough army unit, the awkward teenager that saves the world and gets the hot girl. The CGI may have worked well on the big screen but even on my HD 40" it was not so entertaining. With in that formula there was still a couple of funny moments and some decent action to be watched. I'm really, really happy I didn't spend any money at an overpriced movie theater to see it but it wasn't a complete waste of time to watch in the comfort of my lazy boy.
Then on this past Saturday I sat and watched the movie 300, about the Spartans that held of the Persians at the Battle of Thermopylae. Uh...
WOW! The Transformers was a great flick!

I've got to believe a pro review would have made the phrase "Jolie in body paint!!!!!" a hyperlink.
Cheers,
Ask and you shall receive, my friend. Ask and you shall receive.
