A Country Of Laws, by 5-4 margin
The Supreme Court ruled today that the executive branch must obey the constitution. But that ruling was 5-4. Roberts, Alito, Scalia, and Thomas thought it was OK for the government to indefinitely detain people without charges, without trial, and without justification.
John McCain has promised to nominate justices in the Roberts/Alito mode.
