Random Baseball

1. 09/02: Catcher Koyie Hill of the Cubs was called up from Triple-A Iowa. He played last year but lost or severely damaged three fingers on his throwing hand in a table saw accident. He's made a recovery, rehabbed, and has played well enough to return to the bigs!
   
2. 09/03: Uh oh! Is that goat I smell? Big Z has arm fatigue and Harden is getting and extended rest. I still don't think the Cardinals can catch the Cubs. In fact, I'm about to write them off for the playoffs this year. But just this weekend a friend and me were discussing what form the Cubs' curse will take this year. Are we seeing it early?
   
3. The Cardinals blew their 30th save on Friday night. 30!!! If they could have held on to just 10 of those we'd be leading the NL Central by a game.
   
4. UPDATE: Robert Farley unloads on Cubs fans. He doesn't say anything that hasn't been said umpteen times but he is funny.
   
5. UPDATE II: The Carlos Quentin injury is just bad, bad news for the White Sox. I'm hoping the Sox are able to hold on and get deep in the play offs.
