Cubs / Dodgers, Game 1

The Dodgers take game 1 on the road and put the Cubbies in the hole. Stever Rosenbloom at the Tribune is completely unforgiving to the Cubs and their fans. He certainly has no love for Soriano and Ramirez.
From his first at-bat on, Alfonso Soriano looked like he was in mid-playoff-sweep form. If it's spinning, he's swinging. And missing.

Cubs first and Derrek Lee draws a two-out walk to bring up Aramis Ramirez, who went 0-for-Arizona last year. Some quick redemption? Nope. A 5-4 fielder's choice.

At times I think he is being unfair but he makes one point that my friends at the bar didn't see last night. Sean Marshall did not make a mistake to Manny Ramirez. That pitch was just above the ankles. Manny, who may have been using a golf club instead of a baseball bat, went down and blasted it out of the park. Not Marshall's fault in any way, shape or form. That was Manny doing what Manny does.

As an aside, I'm not head-over-heels, gaga in love with Wrigley Field but TBS superimposing replays over the Wrigley Field scoreboard is a bit of BS. The field is what it is and they should show it that way. If they want to show replays, show them on the TV and then cut to views of the park.
