Monday's Good News
"I was able to throw my breaking ball for strikes, and I threw my changeup for strikes a couple times too," Chris Carpenter.
That's good news for St. Louis Cardinal fans. I was talking with a Cubs fan about two weeks ago. He asked if the Cardinals were going to be a weak team this year. I told him the answer to that question rests with two players, starting pitchers Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright. One is a former Cy Young winner and the other has shown the ability to be another. Both are coming off injury plagued seasons. If the two come back and are able to compete at the level they are capable of doing then the Cardinals will be a strong force in the NL Central. Big if? Yes, but it certainly seems possible.
35 Days until Opening Day. It makes me almost giddy to think about.
