Random Baseball
INCOMING!
- MLB is employing a bunch of off duty and former law enforcement officers to authenticate possible mementos from games to combat multi-million dollar fraud in the sports memorabilia market.
- Majestic Athletic could use some F7 spell check buttons. And in other uniform hijinks, Toronto's Darren O'Day wore someone else's uni.
- Patrick Schuster, a high schooler in Florida, has pitched 4 straight no-nos, setting the state record. However, after reading the scouts report of his throwing style I wouldn't predict a long pro career.
- The Cardinals ended April with the best record in MLB, 16-7. This is mostly attributable to the team scoring nearly 6 runs per game on average.
The Cubs are a surprisingly dismal 10-11 and in 5th place behind the Cards, Brew Crew, Reds, and Bucks. I don't expect those standings to continue. The Cubs are under performing and the Pirates and Reds are over performing. The standings rarely sort themselves out before the 50 game mark, but it's been a happy April for me.
GO BIRDS!
- Cubs fans are probably walking on egg shells today as Big Z left yesterdays game with a potential hamstring injury.
