Random Baseball

  • Last of the Big 3 has been retired. John Smoltz was designated for assignment by the Boston Red Sox. He was one of the greatest pitchers I've seen. His Atlanta years where he shared starting spots with Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux was a show always worth watching, even when they pissed you off by beating your team.

Maddux and Glavine retired last year. Scholtz numbers were good enough that it was reasonable that he have another shot at the show. It didn't work. It's too bad. We could have had all 3 go into the HOF in the same year.
