It's official. The Cubs have hired Lou Pinella. Rumor has it that Lou demanded that the Cubs up their payroll by $10M or $15M as a condition of taking the job. The Cubs have a potentially good manager and possibly the ability to buy some real talent. Of course, that assumes that Jim Hendry can spend his money intelligently. History is not on his side.
