Today's Stat

3,000 Fewer People
died of cancer in 2004 than in 2003. Not a huge number considering the number of people that die from cancer each year. But it is the >first time the number has fallen in 70 years!!!!

The successes obviously come from mulitple fronts.

• Decrease in risky behavior (i.e. smoking)
  
• Better detection
  
• Better, more targeted treatments (drugs) and surgery
