One Book One Chicago

Back in 2001 Chicago introduced the idea of everybody reading the same book. The program is called One Book, One Chicago. It is a way to encourage people to read and to create conversation among residents. I've not read any of the books but have always wanted to. A lunch buddy just finished Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird, the first book in the program. He said that if anyone were to ask him what book s/he "has to read" he is putting Mockingbird on the list. That's enough for me. I'm going to pick up the book and start down the path of reading all of them. (For the record, I'm dread Pride and Prejudice)
