Today's Stat
is the new sales tax rate in the city of Chicago starting today thanks to a 1% increase in the Cook County sales tax. I recognize that inflation raises the cost of doing everything, including running a government, but the bloat and corruption in Chicago and Cook County makes it impossible for me to accept this increase was necessary.
The cost of my morning bagel and iced tea went up 3 cents this morning.

Wow, 3 cents. You should protest the tax hike. :)
