- The Cardinals parted ways with Anthony Reyes two Saturday's ago. A few years ago in a Series against the White Sox I saw Reyes pitch a brilliant game. It was a 1-0 loss for The Birds but Reyes only made one mistake in what I remember as a complete game.
- Over the weekend, Dad asked me what happened to former St. Louis Cardinal outfielder John Rodriguez. I didn't know but there is the miracle that is the Wikipedia. John was released by the Cardinals over the past off season. Since he has signed with Tampa Bay but failed to make the team. He is currently in the Mets organization.
- Chris Carpenter returned to the Cardinals starting rotation on July 30, 1 year and 6 days after under going Tommy John surgery. He threw 67 pitches to complete 4 innings and sacrificed a single run. Not a great outing but a decent return.
