Always Read Your "To" Line

That's what I preach to everyone at work and everyone else I know. Before you hit send on an email, read that "To" line to make sure you are sending the message only to the people you want to send it to. I've seen the mistake made many times. Some years back while working on a project a lady on our team sent and email to another teammate asking (telling?) him to do a bunch of work. She then started packing up to go home. Jamie, who received the email, sent an email to a couple of us "The bitch is passing off work again." Except instead of hitting "Forward" he hit "Reply". He sent that email back to her. Needless to say there was some meetings with management.

So yesterday one of my friends was doing some work that required about 35 other people to limit there work so as not to affect critical testing work. When he was done he sent a message, "All done. Go wild."

I replied with this picture.

Except I hit "Reply All" instead of "Reply". Fortunately, everyone else thought it was funny too.

Always, always read your "TO" line!!
