1. Let me start by saying I'm happy the White Sox avoided being swept by The Rays, but the Pierzynski pickle was a poor call by the umpires. Whether intentional or not, and I think it was, it was A.J.'s flailing elbow that initiated the contact.
   
2. In Adam Wainwright's return to the majors on 08/22, the Cardinals battered the Atlanta braves knocking out 26 hits and scoring 18 runs. All without a home run.
   
3. Andy Van Slyke quote: "With the Cardinals everybody would be reading the business section to see what their stocks were doing. You get to this locker room (Pirates) in the morning and everybody is looking at the sports page to see if Hulk Hogan won."
