Bull Preseason
A buddy got four tickets for yesterday's Bull's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. We were in Section 108, Row 17. It was a corner section but great seats. I haven't followed basketball that much for the last few years, most times I find myself disliking the players and the way the game is played today. (It's a team sport, people!). Then I realize I sound like my father.
Anyway, one of the waitresses at the local watering hole goes with us and a buddy of mine from work, a pretty big fan, also tags along. I know it was preseason and the Bulls lost but it was one of the quietest crowds I've ever experienced at a sporting event. Sean, Emily, Matt and I were able to carry on a conversation without shouting at any point we wanted.
Admittedly, the UC is never going to be as loud as the old Chicago Stadium. Still, I went to games in the 90s at the UC and it got loud. The crowd was just not interested.
Sad.
Side note: Right at the beginning of the 1st quarter Emily pointed to the Luv-a-Bulls and tells me she's friends with blond on the left in the front row. Come on now! Emily caught all kinds of flack for not coming to my house warming party and not bringing the Luv-a-Bulls. It's going to take her a while to live that down.

A few years ago, one of the Luvabulls almost did some temp. work at my job--but she wasn't able to work the regular hours.
The guys in my department were very disappointed. :)
