Now That's Change
Waxman replaces Dingell as chairman of the House Energy and Environment committee. Although Dingell's policies had improved in the recent past he's held the post for 30+ years and has defended the auto industry from tougher environmental standards for a long time. Matt Yglesias didn't think Dingell was a villain and I suppose that is true as far as it goes. Still this is hugely good news for the environmental movement.
