Veterans' Day

The mast of The Maine at Arlington National Cemetery

Are you supposed to say "Happy Veterans' Day?" It doesn't feel right.

Now the sun's gone to hell and
The moon's riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But it's written in the starlight
And every line in your palm
We are fools to make war
On our brothers in arms
- Mark Knopfler

Some war poetry.
The plight of a WWII vet.
There are only 10 documented surviving veterans of The Great War.
