Today's Stat

According to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study the average weight of U.S. citizens rose 10lbs in the 1990s. To heave this extra girth into the air it was estimated that the airline industry was spending an additional 275M dollars a year by 2000. All this additional burned fuel dumped an additional 3.8M tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

So not only is our obesity causing health problems such as diabetes and heart disease. It also is contributing to the global warming. And this can't be just affecting the airlines. Every automobile towing around the overweight is buring more fuel.

Get to the gym, people! Ride your bicycle! Go for a walk! Do something for crying out loud. You're not only killing yourself, you're killing your friends and family. And me!
