The number of Americans that have had premarital sex. The numbers include 88% of people born in the 1940s. The study shows that premarital sex is by far and away the norm and has been for the last half century. The Bush administrations plan to fund abstinance education programs for adults in their 20s was always a foolish idea. This just shows what a waste of money it will be.

It brings to mind a quote by Robertson Davies: "The world is full of people whose notion of a satisfactory future is, in fact, a return to the idealized past."
