Today's Stat

$81,000,000,000

in health care obligations was being carried by General Motors at the end of 2005. The obligations are for salaried and hourly retirees. GM posted more than ($13B) in losses last year and estimated it would spend $5.1B on health care.

It's no wonder that domestic auto makers are losing money hand over fist. As a self employed contractor I can attest that health insurance is outrageously expensive. Again, I say that universal, gov't provided health insurance is the only real solution to our health care system.
