Your Safety Is Not The Gov't's Concern

The Bush administration is suing to prevent a meat packing company from testing all of it's cattle for Mad Cow Disease. Why? Because if they do and people know that company's beef is safe, then the free market might force other companies to do the same.

Un-fucking-believable. But, really, its not is it? I read the article and literally stared at my computer screen for a full minute, mouth agape. The Goppers (more than the Democrats) are just doing what they always do. They are protecting their big corporate donors from having to spend money. The fact that this might make the food supply safer is irrelevent to them. The potential to save lives is irrelevent to them. Money. Their money, and getting their hands on yours, is all that matters.
