He Is Soooooo Taguchi
I haven't had much to say about The Cardinals this year because they haven't done much worth noting. At least nothing good. They are having a terrible year after winning the World Series last fall. But last night was a great game. It was relatively low scoring and went into the 9th inning tied 3-3. Reserve outfielder and senior member of the team, So Taguchi, came to the plate with one out and Aaron Miles, reserve middle infielder, on 2nd base. Taguchi battled through 9 pitches (including a wild pitch that advanced Miles to 3rd) before stroking the 10th pitch of the at bat into right field. It was tense and it was awesome baseball. The pitcher threw everything but the kitchen sink and Taguchi just kept fouling off pitches to stay alive, waiting for the pitcher to make a mistake. And when he did, Taguchi didn't falter. He slapped a line drive over the right fielders head who had to play way in with hopes of throwing out Miles at home.
