Random Baseball

  1. 09/09: Some of the At Bat music for the Cardinals.
  2. 09/09: How fans rate the hospitality of various stadiums.
  3. 09/09: A 3-3 tie going into the bottom of the ninth. The Cards have runners at 1st and 2nd with no outs. Second year player Brian Barden (not Barton) laid down a good sacrifice bunt to move the runners up. He was greeted at the dugout by at least a dozen high fives. That's Cardinals baseball.

The Cardinals went on to win the first game against the Cubs after and excuse me swing by Cesar Izturis.
  4. 09/11: The Friday game was postponed on Thursday.
  5. 09/12: Cubs games canceled at least through Saturday. I worked in Houston some years back and have a few acquaintances in the area still. May they and everyone else remain safe.
  6. 09/15: Big Z threw a no-no last night. In Milwaukee. Against the Houston Astros.
  7. 09/15: From the article just above, did Big Z commit Cubbie heresey? "I felt good, I like the mound," Zambrano said. "This is a beautiful ballpark. Gosh, I wish we could have a new ballpark."
  8. 09/15: Obviuosly, because of Hurrican Ike, the Cubs - Astros games had to be moved. They couldn't play in Houston. I don't know what all went in to the decision to choose Milwaukee as the alternative site (other than the dome) but it was a raw deal for Houston. Houston was the home team for the series but Milwaukee is anything but a neutral site. Just an hour north of Wrigley Field, Miller Park was filled with Cubs fans cheering on the Cubs and booing the Astros.
  9. 09/15: The farce that is the SF Giants kept their only truely good pitcher in the game for 138 pitches. This is a team going no where and they were playing a team that is no where. This is just piss poor management. As the author asks, why risk it? Via LGM who rightly describes it as "The Ghost of Dusty Baker."
