Missing Officer
Bear the dog, went missing earlier this week when he was spooked by a crack of thunder and hopped a 5 foot fence. The article discusses the dog being very friendly and good with other dogs and kids. Some years ago another police dog, this one in the western suburbs, got away from its handler. My friend, a cop in a neighboring town, came across the dog and stay with it until the canine officer arrived.
My friend didn't know it was police dog when he found it. The dog's trainer was ASTOUNDED that the dog was being friendly to a stranger. Now it all comes down to training and dogs, like people, have varying peronsalities. Bear may be just as described but I'd still be leery about just "feeding him some cheese."

Hmm, a dog is a dog after all--even if he's witnessed gunfire in his lifetime, thunder can just make him run for the hills. I, on the other hand, would be more afraid of gunfire--not sure why...
*grin*
