Journalistic Fender Bender

This is the kind of thing that can happen when non-automotive reporters do stories involving the car industry. A friend of a friend works for an ad firm here in Chicago that just landed the Porsche account. Generally, great news. But there was one line that is just glaringly wrong.
The German carmaker, known for its stylish, almost arty design, is planning to roll out the Panamera, its first four-door sedan, in 2009.

The car will be only the fourth model in the company's history, following the Porsche 911, the Boxster and the Cayenne sport-utility vehicle.

Let me count the ways that is wrong:
1. The 928
2. the 968
3. The 944
4. The 924
5. The Carrera GT
6. The 959
7. ...

OK, OK, I'll stop. Those are the major ones anyway. I don't mean to say that I'd expect everyone to be able to list off a bunch of Porsche car models. But when dealing with a car manufacturer with 7 decades of history I would think someone should question the "4 models in history" statement.
