Today's Stat

$0.065

increase in the average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline over the past two weeks according to the Lundberg survey. My home town of Chicago has the highest national average at $3.27.

I know that I'm one of the few people that sees this as good news. I recognize how this hurts the average person and can be a drag on the economy. It certainly is hurting some friends and family quite a bit. Overall, however, higher fuel prices are requried if we are ever going to start reducing -- or even slowing -- our rapacious energy consumption.
