Red List

The World Conservation Union has released its "Red List" of endangered species. These numbers are depressing:

• 41,415 Species are on the list.
  
• 1/4 of all mammals
  
• 1/3 of all amphibians
  
• 1/8 of all birds
  
• 7/10 of all known plants

On NPR this morning it was said that all of the great apes in the world could fit in three football stadiums.
