Happy Earth Day

Sea levels are rising.
Air polution is causing increased asthma.
Animals species are dying off.
The grain belt will shift out of the U.S. territory.
We're too dependent on oil which is only in abundance in totalitarian countries.
God put us here to tend to his creation.

Pick your reason. Do something.
Turn off the car engine when you're waiting for the kiddies. If it's been running for more than 5 or 10 minutes the engine block is lubed, you won't do any damage.

Turn off the lights. Even the flourescents. The article says 5 otr 10 minutes. Mythbusters said 33 seconds. Either way, turn 'em off.

And here's two dozen other ideas. Now, I don't contenance "mellow yellow" but buy a dual flush toilet next time around and make sure the overflow valve on the current one works properly. Some of these are thinking about city life but most can be applied to everyone in some fashion.

And if you're looking to be more adventurous, here's 10 more products you can get to green your lifestyle.

Personal disclosure. I'm not a saint on this issue. I ride my bike to work and drive as little as possible but when I drive, I drive a BMW. And my water consumption is embarassing in both quantity and my love of LONG, HOT showers. But I'm trying.
