RIP: Ellas McDaniel
Bo Diddley, 12/30/1928 - 06/02/2008
Chicago Tribune slide show.
UPDATE: Bo Diddley playing and dancing. Good stuff!
UPDATE 2: More. If it's not becoming obvious, I'm a HUGE fan of the blues. Bo was right there when old time delta blues bred rock and roll. It was Diddley, Chuck Berry, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, and a bunch of other less known people that were the real pioneers. The early rock and roll stars copied (stole?) these artists.
UPDATE 3: My college roommate and song writing friend Chuck has a post up about Bo. His music history knowlege is way better than mine.
UPDATE 4: More Bo Diddley rememberence. I'll have to pull out my Snoopy and the Red Barron CD to look for this.

Oh my God, I had no idea that Bo Diddley died! Iwanski and I saw him at the House of Blues about 7 years ago, and he was awesome! :)
RIP, Mr. McDaniel. I'm sad.
Thanks for the content. I put up a link to this post over at my blog.
