The Problem With Tax Exemptions

I'm one that thinks that property taxes are a bad, bad way of funding government. It is an antiquated tax that was designed when ownership of property was a proxy for making money. In the modern world, the majority of people don't make an income on property but use it as a saving account. That being said, when you have a tax and you carve out special exemptions, people are going to figure out how to cheat the system.
