Toyota Shut Down

For 11 days, Toyota will idle all 12 production plants in Japan. The shut down is in response to a steep decline in demand for new automobiles world wide as the economy struggles. I don't know if this makes me any more or less inclined to support the auto industry bail out but it shows that the Detroit automakers are being hurt by circumstances beyond their control. Detroit companies still have their internal problems but when strong companies like Toyota are struggling you have to expect weaker companies to suffer more.
