In addition to ending generations of bipartisanship and instituting one-party rule, our national legislators in the Bush years are guilty of something even more fundamental: They suck at their jobs.

I'm about half way through the article. Many good one liners. RS is not a nonpartisan magazine but so far I think they are summing up the abuses of the last 6 years pretty well.

Even if one were to agree with everything this Congress has done, the only appropriate reaction to their methods should be shock and horror. They have corrupted small-d democracy in favor of absolute power. It is one of the most glaring signs of the fundamentalist world view of the GOP leadership. That view can be described as: We know the absolute truth and what is absolutely right and moral so we need to pass laws to institute that truth and morality by what ever means necessary.
