Tuesday Baseball

I went to the White Sox game against Minnesota last night. We had great seats, 16th row directly behind the White Sox dugout. And to make it all worth it, the White Sox starter, Gavin Floyd, throws a no hitter for 8.1 innings!!!

There was actually a short chorus of boos when manager Ozzie Guillen went to pull him after he gave up a 2nd inning double. (My participation earned me a look from The Gril.) It was a short chorus though because everyone exploded into a standing ovation.

And with all that I missed my Cardinals put on their own defensive display. Starter Brandon Looper pitched into the 9th inning for the first time in his career. And Roy HobbsRick Ankiel displayed a cannon attached to his shoulder with two outfield assists in the game.

Ankiel's arm showed an uncanny accuracy that had the Cardinals clubhouse summoning the legacy of Roberto Clemente. Third baseman Troy Glaus said that on both throws, if he hadn't caught the balls, they would have hit the bag.

Reliever Ryan Franklin had a good view of the eighth-inning play from the bullpen, marveling at Ankiel's footprints left in the warning track a shade deeper than the 415-foot mark.

That's F'ing phenominal!!

What a great night of baseball! I Love This Game!!!

Ran across you blog tonight via Miss Healthypants via Sometimes you get what you need. I'm originally from Chicago and a Sox fan, so I instantly liked this post.

Hey, thanks for stopping by. You're welcome any time.

Your guys just missed a sweep this weekend. My Cardinals, unfortunately, dropped two to the Crew and let the Cubs pull even.
