ELECTION DAY - Voter ID
When I checked in at the polling station I gave the first judge my name. She looked it up and gave me a sheet of paper to sign. I signed it and a second judge compared my signature to one on file. It was approved and I was given a ballot.
The two ladies checking in before me handed their drivers license to the judge. Showing ID is not a requirement but everyone seems to do it by habit. I won't show it unless asked. I was the last time because there was a challenge to my registration. My ID proved my residency and I was allowed to vote.
When I finally put my optical scan ballot through the machine I noticed there was a counter. I was the 25th voter at my precinct this morning. That was at 7:10AM.
